Your privacy is important to the Academic Pediatrics Association (APA). APA is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Privacy Policy governs data collection and usage by APA and applies to its website, other platforms used to facilitate management of the services provided to you (e.g., conference registration sites); and any additional means by which you share your information to APA. By using the APA website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

APA collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address and/or telephone number, date of birth, gender, ethnicity, and work/residency background. We retain the personal information we collect from you for as long as the information is relevant to our business purposes or until you request that we remove the data by contacting APA at the email or address below.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by APA This information may include: your IP address and date of submission. This information may be used by APA for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the APA website.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through APA listserv emails or other areas of the Members Only section where information may be provided that this information may be collected and used by others.

Use of your Personal Information

APA collects and uses your personal information to deliver the services you have requested, including, but not limited to membership, conferences, volunteer opportunities, scholarship opportunities and surveys. APA also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from APA and its affiliates, as well as to contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered. Survey information may be used by APA for scientific purposes.

APA may sell, rent or lease its membership list to trusted partners to send you email or postal mail about a particular offering that may be of interest to you, or may provide your data to arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to APA, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

APA secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. APA secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of industry-standard encryption.

APA will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect company and customer feedback. APA encourages you to periodically review this Policy to be informed of how APA is protecting your information.
