Current SIG goals:
To hold a highly productive and informative SIG meeting each year at the Pediatric Academic Societies meetings.

Annual summary:
The pediatric clinical research networks (PCRN) SIG met in Toronto at PAS on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 from 9:30-12:30. Approximately 20 individuals representing a diverse group of pediatric clinical research networks and areas of interest attended the three-hour session. After introductions, the SIG conducted two new pediatric clinical research network consultations.

The first was: Dr. Alex Kemper of Nationwide Children’s hospital will present details of a new network, the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Population-Level Action Network.  This is a network including the core- General Pediatric Section of Ohio State and Nationwide Children’s Hospital and spokes – multiple spokes of local and regional pediatric clinics and practices all related to the Medical Center.

In addition, Dr. Chris Stille of Children's Hospital Colorado will present the vision and opportunities for the new Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs Research Network. This is a newly funded HRSA / MCHB network centered at Children’s Hospital of Colorado with partnerships around the country and looking for put together research in this arena. Lively discussions followed both presentations, as presenters received insights and advice from the group directed at helping their networks flourish. The meeting also featured a presentation from Dr Lynne Haverkos of NICHD who shared the funder’s perspective on PCRN research.      The SIG session concluded with a group discussion of network opportunities and challenges from all who were present.
